Riddle #1

You can see it with the naked eye...  
If you put it in a barrel, it will make the barrel lighter in weight.  
...
What is it?

    By the way, the answer was "a hole." I used to watch the show "Are You Afraid of the Dark," and this was a riddle used in one of the episodes. :)
